Israeli Avram Grant has signed a four-year deal as Chelsea's manager and first team coach, the Premier League club said on Thursday.
The 52-year-old has been rewarded for an impressive run of results since taking over from Jose Mourinho in September.
"Chelsea FC can confirm that Avram Grant has signed a four year contract as manager/first team coach," the club said on their Web site (www.chelseafc.com).
After losing 2-0 to Manchester United in his first game in charge three days after Mourinho left, Chelsea have gone 16 matches unbeaten in all competitions.
The have conceded just one goal in their last eight matches and scored 33-7 in Grant's 17 matches in charge.
They are third in the Premier League, through to the knockout round of the Champions League and the quarter-finals of the English League Cup.
They will pull level on points with league leaders Arsenal if they beat their north London [Images] rivals at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
