JCT stunned defending champions Dempo 2-1 in their opening game of the I-League match at the Pandit Jawarharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa [Images] on Sunday.

Eduardo Da Silva opened the scoring for JCT in the 17th minute while Balwant Singh doubles the lead in the second half.

Nicolau Borges scored the consolatory goal for the home side, but Dempo were unable to hold on to their chances and struggled to get past JCT goalkeeper Karanjit Singh.
