Does India have the bowling to do well in the WC?

Message: India have a good batting line up for the world cup but have a very average bowling line up.Javagal Srinath,Ajit Agarkar, Zaheer Khan,Harbhajan Singh are good but are not exactly consistent. I feel that till the world cup India should experiment on bowling and keep it consistent. With batting like it is now and woth good bowling India will surely win the WORLD CUP.

Message: India is having lot of potential but very poor planning. By this time we should have experimented our talents for South African pitches and create competetion to get to the final eleven.We should go in with four medium pace or fast bowlers and one spinner & make use of Shewag, Ganguly, Tendulkar and yuvarajsingh, depending upon the pitch conditions. we should also prepare pitches suitable to fast bowling by which we can evaluate and practice our talents.All the Cricketing stadium should have both spin track and fast track and should be used accordingly.Indian Cricket body is an affluent one can match to International venues and can be more also with respect Stadium Infrastucture and technology. But unfortunately no Good administrator who have courage to face groupism and to evaluate talents.

Message: The Simple answer is No. Atleast when people like Ajit Agarkar and Kumble are selected in the team India is NOT GOING TO WIN because of bowling.Some serious thoughts have to be given into bowling and i suggest some youngsters can be given chance a head of the WC against WestIndies and NZ and get them ready for WC in SA.

Message: I dont think so, India can accomodate an allrounder who can bowl medium fast like Sodhi or Laxmiratan Shukla or Bangar, to make thing worse selectors are not even looking for that

Message: India has to find one fast bowler.We have Zaheer Srinath & Nehra as a good MF bowler i dont think we neeed spinner fo SA Wc, as spinner will of less use and we have Sachin Sehwag Ganguly Yuvraj who can bowl pretty amount of over. I dont think Agarkar is fit for oneday bowling he has to improve lot.we had preety good batting line up we should just work for 4th regular fast bowler.India can drop both spinner or can take only one of kumble or Harbhajan. but they have to show there form now in oneday cricket.

Message: It is very pity to see mostly fans run after the bowling and batting capibility of Ajit Agarkar. He is playing for India from last 3 to 4 years and has done exceptionally good. As of world cup coming up i do believe India need an all rounder but we can't experiment too much. Sending Ajit Agarkar to bat at #3 is not a mistake. He shows in the past he is a good batsmen and his batting capibility has improved a lot from last 3 months by having a century in Test and good run in ODI. Not criticised him for his bowling. We have just 5 allrounders to choose from - SOdhi / Bangar / Agarkar / JP Yadav / Laxmi Ratan Shukla. Out of these Shukla and Sodhi won't make it to the team. The choice now restrict to just 3 out of which only Agarkar has an experince of International cricket more than Bangar / Yadav. Though Bangar has done well in Test cricket his capibility in One day Cricket is yet to be tested. And just 80 odd days left for World Cup we need to have our nucleus ready for world cup. On south african wickets we need a fast bowler all rounder not a slow bowling all rounder like Sehwag/ Yuvraj. As a wicketkeeper Dravid is doing an excellent job and he should be continued. The best bet for # 3 spot i believe is Tendulkar as he is natural strokemaker and good defensive player and he has an ability to adapt himself quickily into the situation. Kumble should be asked to quit One Day cricket as he is neither a good bowler, nor batsman, poor fielder and pathetic runner. he is not a utility player for One day cricket, similar is the case with Laxman he is poor runner. My Eleven for world cup would be Sehwag / Ganguly / Tendulkar / Dravid / Yuvraj / Kaif / Agarkar / Zaheer / Harbhajan / Srinath / Nehra

Message: Yes. India can have four bowlers and 7 batsmans and still win a game. India should have Harbhajan Singh, Ajit Agarkar, Javagal Srinath and Zaheer Khan as their four permanent bowlers. Our fifth bowler could be Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag or Saurav Ganguly. We need seven batsman to win the game.

Message: Zaheer is good for one day intl. Srinath has to realise that pace is no more his strength. Have to introduce more variety in this bowling attack. But still his experience will come in handy. Ashish has to be more disciplined in his attack. Again, it will be good if he can concentrate on yorkers or pitching the ball right in the block hole. Harbajan, add more pace in his bowling, like kumble. Agarkar, please retire !

Message: In my opinion instead of Agarkar, Kumble should be employed because of his consistency. Agarkar as many remarked is a loose cannon. We can use more spinners than pace bowlers.

Message: Always it has been said that india's bowling lacks teeth. But, away from home it has been always the batsmen who have let the team down. Our batting which looks invincible at home is brittle in fast and bounch wickets. Sehwag or tendulkar who can put any attack to sword in sub-continent wickets cannot be so consistent abroad. Ganguly on bouncy wickets will be a bunny to any bowler who bounces to him. Our overall fielding save for a few exceptions perhaps the worst in the world (even Kenya is better). with this, it is a day dream to win the world cup. Perhaps, the only way India could win is to fix matches.

Message: I think Srinath and Khan seem to be consistent. H.Sing should still improve and learn from his mistakes. Nehra and Agarkar i feel are very poor learners they seem to repeat the same mistake again agian especially Agarkar.

Message: I think that Dravid should bat at No.3 in the World Cup.Dravid had performed really well in the last World cup.He is good as a keeper and so is in batting.He had played very well in the first 2 matches against the windies with his strike rate as good as 100 runs per 100 balls.So if he is sent at No.3 he can pick up quick runs as compared to VVS Laxman.But Agarkar must be kicked out of the Indian squad for the W`cup.Bowlers must be encouraged and everyone must show the aggression which they showed in the India-England match in the ICC Champions trophy. Best of luck India.Remember,"sach aur sahas hai jiske man mein,anth mein jeet usi ki rahe!"

Message: Srinath + Zaheer + Agarkar are enough for the pace. And Harbajan is the only spinner and India has to play without 5th bowler and we can do wonders. In fact we don't have any other classy bowler who can expel the other 7 batsmen. Our bowling may not be the strongest but it is strong.

Message: The Indian bowilng attack is not exactly one that can send shivers down the batting line ups of any of the nine test teams . Any team, including Zimbabwe ,will be looking to make 275 plus against us on any day.The only bowler who can actually pose a threat is Zaheer Khan, he's suddenly found his bearings.Its better not to talk about Ajit Agarkar at all.Time for him to take a long break from cricket.The way our spinners were pasted by the mediocre West Indies batting line up is pathetic.Bowling is India's achillies heel. If we have to defend a target less than 300, the odds are always against us, especially if Zaheer Khan is not there.Its our batting that has been winning us matches and if we don't shape up in our bowling by February,winning the world cup is going to be just a pipe dream.

Message: According to me we cant say our team has a decent bowling attack. What we are seeing in this WI tour is Ajit and Nehra are clobbered for boundaries. Our bowlers lack the variety in pace bowling and mostly they dont have that fire in them to attack the batsmen. I dont think our bowlers have any game plan for any of the batters. BCCI has to condut a talent hunt again just for BOWLING. The new inclusion L.Balaji into the side should hoepfully give some helping hand to Zaheer and Sri. All the best Balaji. Message: No, only if they play with 5 top bolwers they have a chance to get to the super sixes, the top five should inlcude Kumble, Harbhajan, Zaheer, Srinath and one bowler whom we need to find out during the tour of New Zeland, We cannot take chances with Agarkar / Nehra or Mohanty.

Message: Absolutely NOT! One Zaheer Khan can not take the responsibility for the whole bowling department. Why is Agarkar in the team? We need to experiment with young fast bowlers - not with the existing batting side which is one of the best in the world. Kumble should be omitted.

Message: Honestly NO!! Atleast the Indian bowling department is not as strong and consistent as the batting department.. Moreover, fast bowlers are more prone to injuries than anybody else in the team and they have a lot of physical demands from their bodies... Imagine what would happen if zaheer and srinath both get injured during the league matches in the world cup.. Zaheer and Srinath are my best bet.. But recent performances of Nehra, Agarkar and kumble have been disappointing.. Even Harbhajan loses his cue in one-dayers.. How well can a team perform with only 2-3 top class bowlers?? Sure india has part-timers who can bowl well.. But its time now to use those part-timers and prepare them for the batting all-rounders slot.. Surely Saurav can bowl well on fast pitches.. and if Rahul can don the gloves, saurav can and should set an example for the team by taking over the middle overs himself.. I wonder what was wrong with thiru kumaran who was an equally fine bowler.. Is the MRF Pace foundation, suddenly short of quality bowlers?? We need atleast 6 quality bowlers who can bowl anywhere in the innings at an economy rate of 4 rpo to be world beaters.. Even the team feilding needs to pick up to match the big event..

Message: Any Cricket Team needs 5 top-class batsmen, 1 outstanding keeper-batsman and 5 top-notch bowlers along with a spirit of unity to win matches.. its as simple as that.. We have 7 top-class batsmen, 2 wk-batsmen in dravid and patel but the bowling dept seriously lacks depth.. Only Srinath and Zaheer have impressed so far.. Ashish needs more practice and bhajji has to find his rhythm in one-dayers.. Remember only a 14 member team would be sent for the world cup.. consisting of 7 batsmen, 1 keeper and 6 bowlers.. we have srinath, zaheer, harbhajan and ashish but still need 2 quality bowlers of the class of zaheer khan !!! - Manish.
