Statistical hightlights Zimbabwe vs Namibia, at Harare

- Namibia became the 17th team to appear in a limited-overs international. The team also becomes the fifth African team to appear in LOIs after East Africa (in 1975), Zimbabwe (since 1983), South Africa (since 1992) and Kenya (since 1996).
- Heath Streak was appearing his 150th match since his LOI debut in November 1993. He becomes fourth Zimbabwean and the 70th player in history to reach this landmark.
- The partnership of 107 runs between Craig Wishart and Mark Vermeulen was Zimbabwe's best the first wicket in the World Cup. The pair obliterates the previous best of 81 runs put on by Grant Flower and Neil Johnson against Kenya at Taunton on 15-5-1999.
- Playing in his 73rd match, Wishart recorded his second hundred (172) of his career. His only other hundred -- 102 -- came against India at Harare on 30-9-1998. Since his maiden hundred in 1998 Wishart has appeared in 42 matches and 38 innings, while scoring 715 runs (avg. 21.67) with just three scores in the fifties. His highest score being an unbeaten 79 against Bangladesh at Chittagong on 23-11-2001.
- With Wishart appearing in his first World Cup match, he becomes the ninth batsman in history to register a three figure score on first appearance in the World Cup. He joins teammate Andy Flower, who on his LOI debut had made an unbeaten 115 against Sri Lanka at New Plymouth in the 1992 edition of the WC on 23-2-1992.
- Wishart with his unbeaten 172 now becomes the Zimbabwean with the highest individual score in LOIs. He goes past the previous best of 145 runs made by Andy Flower against India at Colombo (RP) on 14-9-2002. The previous highest individual score for Zimbabwe in a World Cup was the 142 by Dave Houghton against New Zealand at Hyderabad (I) on 10-10-1987.

- Wishart's score was the fifth highest made by any batsman in the WC. South African Gary Kirsten's 188 not out against UAE at Rawalpindi in 1996 remains the highest.

- The unbeaten partnership of 166 runs between Wishart and Grant Flower was Zimbabwe's all time best against any country for the third wicket in LOIs. The pair erases the previous highest of 154 runs by Stuart Carlisle and Andy Flower against New Zealand at Taupo on 2-1-2001.
- The above partnership is also the best for Zimbabwe for any wicket in the WC. Andy Flower and Andy Waller had put on an unbeaten 145 for the fifth wicket against Sri Lanka at New Plymouth on 23-2-1992.
- The above partnership was also the best for Zimbabwe at home for any wicket. The standing record was the 148 runs put on by the Flower brothers - Andy & Grant - against Bangladesh at Bulawayo on 11-4-2001.
- Zimbabwe's total of 340-2 was its highest ever in LOIs eclipsing the existing record of 325-6 made against Kenya at Dhaka on 27-3-1999. Incidentally the total was the fourth highest ever made in a WC match.

- Heath Streak's two wickets in this match takes his WC tally to 17 in 15 matches, which makes him the highest wicket-taker for Zimbabwe in the World Cup. He went past the previous record of 16 wickets each held jointly by John Traicos and Eddo Brandes.
