Centre revokes curbs on cotton yarn exportsThe Union government has decided to allow 100 per cent export oriented units in cotton yarn business to export the produce without any domestic use and count restrictions. The decision was taken after keeping in view the availability of yarn to boost exports. The EOUs and export processing zones have been seeking greater operational flexibility to deal with the adverse conditions in the international market. Apart from giving a boost to the textile industry as a whole, the move could encourage investments in integrated units. High returns on exports are expected to pave the way for value-added fabrics in future. UNI |
