Hotel groups vie to set up shop in GurgaonVinod Behl in New Delhi With plush residential and business complexes coming up in a big way to accommodate multinational corporations in Gurgaon near Delhi, well-known hotels chains are following suit. Radisson Hotel, part of the Carlson Group which owns brands like Radisson, Regent International, TCI's Friday and cCuntry Inns and Suites, is setting up a 120-room hotel in Gurgaon at an estimated cost of about Rs 300 million. For this purpose, Radisson Hotels Worldwide Hotel Management Company has entered into a joint venture with Unitech. The hotel will offer modern-day conveniences. Haryana Tourism Development Corporation is also setting up a five-star hotel in Gurgaon. The luxury hotel will come up in an area of eight acres near the Indira Gandhi International Airport. ITC Limited has finalised its plans for a 100-room hotel at the Classic Golf Resorts in Gurgaon, constructed and run by its subsidiary, Landbase India Limited. ITC, which will manage the hotel, plans to promote the hotel as a resort with conference and business facilities. DLF Limited will be launching the most ambitious and expensive hotel project in Gurgaon at an estimated cost of Rs 2 billion. For this purpose, DLF has formed DLF Hospitality Services Private Limited. The company is building a state-of-the-art club house at its new golf course at Gurgaon which is nearing completion. DLF is also constructing service apartments at its prestigious Gymkhana Club. These leisure facilities with 70 rooms, business centre and banquet halls will cost Rs 250 million. NCR News Service |
