Nifty down nine points to 1403The NSE S&P CNX Nifty dipped after an initial rise. It opened at 4869.10, down by 29.11 points. It finally closed lower at 1403, down by nine points. The actively traded counters today were Reliance Rs 1.47 billion, Zee Telefilms Rs 1.25 billion, ITC Rs 1.24 billion, Telco Rs 935.4 million, Satyam Computers Rs 725.6 million, ACC Rs 721.9 million, Tisco Rs 607.5 million and Global Telesystems Rs 489.5 million. The top five gainers at the NSE were Hindalco Rs 956.45 (Rs 900.15), Bajaj Auto Rs 500.80 (Rs 474.60), Bank of India Rs 22.15 (rs 21.25), TVS Suzuki Rs 716.85 (Rs 697.40) and M&M Rs 420.80 (Rs 409.55). The top five losers were MTNL Rs 192.45 (Rs 201.50), SBI Rs 231.50 (Rs 239.15), Gujarat Ambuja Cement Rs 510.90 (Rs 527.45), Tata Tea Rs 553.70 (Rs 570.90) and East India Hotel Rs 278.75 (Rs 286.85).
