Lok Sabha adjournedThe Lok Sabha, which assembled today to approve the Union and Railway Budget for 1999-2000, was adjourned for the day. Earlier, Speaker Ganti Mohana Chandra Balayogi adjourned the House till 1145 hours following vociferous protests by the Telugu Desam Party and other Bharatiya Janata Party allies against 'horse trading' by the Congress. After the House made an obituary reference to one of its former members A K A Abdul Samad, TDP leader in the House Yerran Naidu alleged that the Congress was promoting the defection of his party members. He was supported by his party colleagues, Trinamul Congress leader Mamata Banerjee, Shiv Sena leader Mohan Rawale and several BJP MPs. They raised slogans like 'horse trading bandh karo, bandh karo' and 'videshi neta, videshi paisa nahi chalega '. As the pandemonium continued, the Speaker adjourned the House. UNI
