The fastest goal was scored in the 16th second by Czechoslovakia's Vaclav Masek against Mexico in 1962.
The latest goal was scored after 119 minutes by David Platt of England against Belgium in 1990.
The only player to have scored for two countries is Robert Prosinecki. He represented Yugoslavia in 1990 scoring against the UAE, and Croatia in 1998 scoring against Jamaica.
